Space Travel/Colonization Empty Space Travel/Colonization

So I'm a long time fan of the theory behind space travel and potential colonization (ever since childhood, I've been obsessed with it Very Happy)

Just today, I read THIS article, which excited me immensely!

There now seems to be a planet that is in just the right "habitable zone" to support liquid water on it's surface on a level that would theoretically be able to sustain life. Not only this, but the star around which the planet revolves is a dwarf that will live much longer than our own sun.

so what are you're opinions on this? or with space travel/colonization in general?

I mean, it's a mathematical certainty that our planet will one day be destroyed, and with it our species, unless we branch out into the "new frontier." So what are your thoughts, if any?

I'm actually really interested in the colonization/exploration of space and i find this really amazing to be bale to travel in space and see how our plants compare to others, imagine how life on that planet would be, how similar yet very different... though being 120 trillion miles away, it's gonna take the human race a hell of a long time to see that planet ... all we need now is at least achieve the speed of light :3.

Dont you wish to somehow travel to the future to see what happened to the earth and if any planets were colonized, that'd be so cool.
